Our Story

VS Eyewear was established in 2002 by brothers John & Mark Van Staveren. As second generation eyewear professionals, eyewear is in their blood. 
From humble beginnings, established at the rear of a shop in Hastings, and then moving to a double shop around the corner.  The company is now located in our new 300 m² factory in Carrum Downs.
With over 80 years of experience between them, their passion for the industry and strong relationships with international suppliers, John & Mark have built VS Eyewear into a successful company that employs a dedicated team and owns 4 private label brands.

Since 2002, the Brands continue to grow and we have improved the quality of all componentry, as well as added flare and depth to the ranges.

We are known for our bright and stand out colours and multi layer colours.

The Brands are designed to meet everyone’s needs, with a mix of classic, heavy duty, fun and retro styles to accommodate men, women and youth of all ages. Materials include acetate, monel, stainless steel, titanium and combinations, including Bio-degradable materials.

 

 

What sets us aside?

  1. Our team has a combined 80 years of experience in the optical industry.
  2. You deal directly with the owners.
  3. Our ranges can be purchased directly in store and fitted with your prescription. Alternatively, you can buy our frames online and take them into your local optometrist for prescription fulfilment!

Through hard work and determination we will provide high-quality service and eyewear to suit the budgets and needs of the independent Australian optical industry and subsequently, deliver a product to meet the consumer’s needs.
